187 City of Edinburgh Brownies

Our Brownie Pack is for girls aged 7-10 and meets on a Thursday night from 6:15pm – 7:30pm, during the school term. The Pack is currently full with a closed waiting list.

This term we are trying out a Guiding resource called ‘Aim Hi’ and are participating in lots of healthy activities. We are also planning a visit to Gorgie Farm Park and are hoping the weather stays dry so we can play games in the Meadows.
Check this page again after the summer holidays when it will have lots more details of what we get up to!  In the meantime you can conarct us via email brownies@marchmontstgiles.org.uk  or visit the brownie webpages http://www.girlguiding.org.uk/brownies

What do Rainbow Guides Do? Rainbows have fun! They meet in groups called units where they take part in all sorts of activities such as playing games, making things, listening to stories and singing songs. Rainbows have adventures, share and learn with each other.

Who can be a Rainbow? Rainbows are the youngest group of the Girl Guiding family, for girls aged 5-7. When girls turn 7 they usually go on to Brownies.

When do Rainbows meet? Rainbows meet for an hour once a week during the school term. We meet on Thursdays 5.45-6.45pm at Marchmont St Giles. There are also some occasional special Girl Guiding events or activities at weekends or during holidays.

So why do we have pictures of sunflowers here and why are there sunflowers growing in the church garden?

Well Brownies and Rainbows all over the Uk have been planting sunflowers to mark the 21st birthday of the Rainbows but it is hoped that having been planted in a prominent position in the communities all over the country they will raise awareness of the Brownies and Rainbows.
