3Ms

The 3Ms is an ecumanical group of churches from Merchiston, Morningside and Marchmont working together to serve the needs of our local communities.

The churches have held a number of joint services and various social functions including a trip to Beamish, Hogmanay cielidhs and a very succesful Burns Supper where the Immortal Memeory was proposed by the former Bishop of Edinburgh, Richard Holloway. 

 In February 2009 in support of Scottish Love in Action a men only bake off competition was arranged between the churches, a wide variety of baked goods were produced and raised in excess of £200 for the benefit of children in South-East Indian state of Andhra Pradesh; a Home-cum-School in Tuni and a Home in Hyderabad.  SLA website  http://www.sla-india.org/

One highlight of the year has been the dawn service at the summit of Blackford Hill on Easter Morning. To watch the Moon set, the Sun rise and light spread across the fabulous views of the Forth Valleyand Estuary has a real spiritual beauty.
