Worship & Prayer

Worship at Marchmont St Giles' takes place at 10.30 am every Sunday.

From time to time a service of Holy communion takes place, after the service in the Side Chapel or as part of the service in the form of Round Table.

We also have a Service of Holy Communion on the last Sunday of the months of January, June and October and on Easter Sunday , all are welcome to join us at the Lord's Table for these services.  An Evening Service is held on these dates, when Communion is served

A creche is available in the Church Centre during the morning service for babies and children up to the age of three.

Prayer

As prayer forms an important part of our faith at Marchmont St Giles' we have a small Home Prayer Group of members of our church community who are unable to attend worship on a regular basis but are very much part of the family of God whom we call Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The knowledge that you are in the thoughts of others and that prayers are being said for you can have a wonderful healing and calming effect.  The adage that a problem shared is a problem halved can help to bring focus to the troubles being faced and put them in the context of the wider world and problems being faced by others.

The prayer group responds to requests for prayer from anyone and for anything.  Please contact the prayer team leader at the church or via email for more information or with your prayer request. Your personal details are confidential and will only be divulged to the minister or Pastoral Care team leader with your approval.

Bible Study

Courses of study such as the 'Beta Course' and 'Living the Questions' look at passages from the Bible and discuss them in the context of the days they were written in and about and also in the context of life in the twenty first century.

The format of the courses has been to meet for a shared meal then read and discuss the topic of the day.  Courses have been held at lunchtime and in the evening and have been undertaken in conjunction with the 3Ms.    If you would like information on the next series of courses please contact the Minister by email  theminister@marchmontstgiles.org.uk
