Prayer

As prayer forms an important part of our faith at Marchmont St Giles we have a small Home Prayer Group of members of our church community who are unable to attend worship on a regular basis but are very much part of the family of God whom we call Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The knowledge that you are in the thoughts of others and that prayers are being said for you can have a wonderful healing and calming effect.  The adage that a problem shared is a problem halved can help to bring focus to the troubles being faced and put them in the context of the wider world and problems being faced by others.

The prayer group responds to requests for prayer from anyone and for anything.  Please contact the prayer team leader at the church or via email for more information or with your prayer request. Your personal details are confidential and will only be divulged to the minister or Pastoral Care team leader with your approval.

Bible Study

Courses of study such as the 'Beta Course' and 'Living the Questions' look at passages from the Bible and discuss them in the context of the days they were written in and about and also in the context of life in the twenty first century, if you would like information on the next series of courses please contact the Minister by email  theminister@marchmontstgiles.org.uk

The format of the courses has been to meet for a shared meal then read and discuss the topic of the day.  Courses have been held at lunchtime and in the evening and have been undertaken in conjunction with the 3Ms.
